Murrieta Man, 84, Killed In Head-On Collision
MURRIETA (CBS) — An 84-year-old Murrieta man was fatally injured in a head-on collision, authorities said Thursday.
Richard Johnson's sedan was struck by a pickup truck whose driver apparently allowed the vehicle to drift into opposing traffic lanes, according to Murrieta police.
The collision occurred at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday at 38900 Clinton Keith road, almost directly in front of the Riverside County Fire Department's Bear Creek station, whose personnel responded, said Sgt. Jim Gruwell.
The victim was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where he was pronounced dead 40 minutes later.
The crash remains under investigation.
