Murder Charges For Man Who Ran Truck Into LA House

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a man has been charged with murder after running his truck into a Los Angeles home in a crash that killed his ex-girlfriend and their newborn daughter.

The district attorney said in a statement that 21-year-old Eduardo Villareal was charged Wednesday with two counts of murder and six of attempted murder.

Villareal appeared in court and a judge postponed arraignment until Nov. 24.

Prosecutors said Villareal crashed his Cadillac Escalade into the Boyle Heights bedroom Sunday after an argument with his girlfriend over their 10-day-old baby.

The baby and her mother were killed. There were six others in the house, and one person was seriously injured.

Police said Villareal told investigators he deliberately drove into the house, but said he was only trying to kill himself.
