Multi-Car Crash In Los Feliz Threatens Business When Vehicle Erupts Into Flames
LOS FELIZ (CBSLA.com) — A multi-vehicle crash in Los Feliz threatened businesses when one of the vehicles caught fire, officials said Sunday.
The crash --involving three vehicles, including a parked truck -- occurred around 8 p.m. at Sunset Boulevard and Normandie, authorities said.
Desmond Shaw, reporting in Sky9 just after 9 p.m., said the fire was contained and no longer in danger of spreading to the nearby businesses. A nearby business (believed to be a pharmacy) had "superficial" damage, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
One female adult had minor injuries and declined transport to a hospital, Humphrey said.
It's believed the vehicle that caught on fire -- a truck -- was parked and unoccupied at the time of the collision.
Humphrey said Sunset would be closed in both directions (between Normandie and Mariposa) as the investigation into the crash continued.
Nearly 40 firefighters had the flames out (including a palm tree that ignited) within 30 minutes.
