Mr. Villaraigosa Goes To Washington
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is headed to Washington for a series of meetings with Obama cabinet officials and Democratic leadership.
The mayor is scheduled to be in Washington D.C. Tuesday to meet with White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
Villaraigosa is also scheduled to meet with Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., the new chair of the Democratic National Committee, and Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., the chair of the House Education and Workforce Committee.
Villaraigosa is also expected to speak at the Climate Leadership Gala at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center.
This will be Villaraigosa's seventh trip to Washington, D.C. since September. It will be his second trip is six days. He was in Chicago Thursday and Friday for the National Summit on City Design.
