Motorist Killed In Crash After Allegedly Speeding East Of Downtown LA
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A motorist fatally injured when he crashed into a pole early Tuesday was believed to have been speeding, a coroner's spokesman said.
The accident on East Seventh Street, just east of the river near Anderson Street, occurred about 12:45 p.m., Greg Acevedo of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Coroner's spokesman Ed Winter said the victim was from Los Angeles, but his name was not being made public because his next of kin has not been notified.
Speeding contributed to the wreck, he said.
Los Angeles police with the Central Traffic Division are in charge of the investigation.
