Motorcyclist Killed In Los Feliz Traffic Accident
LOS FELIZ (CBSLA.com) — Officials say a motorcyclist was killed following a collision with a car in Los Feliz Sunday morning.
The accident occurred about 8:50 in the 4600 block of Los Feliz Boulevard, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division is investigating.
An initial investigation says the motorcyclist -- riding a 2009 Kawasaki Zx6R -- was traveling west in the number one lane of Los Feliz Boulevard when the driver of a 2012 BMW 328i left her driveway directly in front of the cyclist's path.
The impact of the collision threw the motorcyclist off his bike. The victim sustained severe injuries to his head and body.
The unidentified man was taken by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics to a nearby hospital but he was later pronounced dead.
Officials said the BMW driver was also taken to the hospital with numerous lacerations and pain to her left shoulder.
Investigators said drugs and alcohol were not factors.
The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
