Motorcyclist Killed In Granada Hills Identified As Man, 30
GRANADA HILLS (CBS) — A motorcyclist killed in a collision in Granada Hills was identified by a coroner's official as 30-year-old Michael Roberts.
Coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said Roberts' residence and hometown were not clear.
The accident occurred about 9:45 a.m. Saturday. Initial reports from police and the coroner said the accident occurred on Zelzah Avenue, but eyewitnesses said it actually on Chatsworth Street near the Zelzah signal.
Roberts' bike struck the side of a vehicle being driven by a woman believed to be in her 70s as she was leaving one parking lot and driving into another, Los Angeles police Sgt. Larry Jones said.
Roberts was rushed to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about two hours after the crash.
Jones said the elderly woman was also taken to an area hospital, where she was listed in fair condition.
No charges were filed, and police said the investigation was ongoing.
