Motorcycle Crashes During Police Pursuit On 60 Freeway
HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBS) — A motorcycle crashed on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Hacienda Heights during an LAPD and CHP pursuit.
Police were pursuing a male driver with a female passenger on a reportedly stolen motorcycle.
The motorcycle rear ended a car near the Seventh Avenue exit just before 10 p.m. at a high rate of speed. The driver and the passenger both slid across the roadway.
The male driver was seen by SKY9 standing up immediately following the crash. The female passenger was initially unresponsive on the roadway, and was given aid by a CHP officer.
The passenger was able to stand after about 10 minutes.
The driver and passenger were transported to County USC Hospital. After treatment they will be processed by LAPD.
The driver was a a 20-year-old from Maywood, according to a temporary motorcycle permit. Police were not able to confirm positive identification.
The pursuit began near the 5 Freeway and 2 Freeway in Glendale.
The 60 Freeway was briefly closed immediately following the incident, backing up traffic for miles. Around 10:10 p.m. police reopened lanes.
