Mother Of Man Injured In Partial Bridge Collapse In Corona Asks For Prayers
CORONA (CBSLA.com) — A man who was among nine workers injured when a bridge collapsed in a construction zone in Corona has a head injury so severe his mother says doctors have given her a grim prognosis.
"The doctor has said this morning that his head injury were very bad. His brain is still swollen and he may not make it from the head injury," Ann Boyd, Jarell Boyd's mother, said.
Boyd was working on the 91 Freeway bridge project Friday night in Corona when, according to the county, there was a collapse of temporary support beams. An independent engineer is reportedly investigating.
Boyd, 33, is a father of two and Ann Boyd's only child.
"You don't know what I'm going brought. My insides are like jelly," said Ann Boyd, who explains that this isn't the first time her son has been through a major life event.
Years ago, Boyd received a new kidney because his had complications.
"He hasn't had any problems at all. He's a great kid and I know sometimes the doctors just don't know for sure. Only God knows," she said.
Boyd and six others remain hospitalized Monday.
"Please pray for my family. Pray all day. Get your friends to pray," she added.
