Opaque definitely offers one of the most unusual dining experiences in Los Angeles. Patrons are expected to eat in a completely dark room while being served by legally blind waiters and waitresses. You order your meal in a lighted lobby outside, and are escorted into the dark room by your waiter. The experience of eating in the dark supposedly helps sharpen the taste buds. Customers reportedly end up resorting to eating with their hands after struggling with utensils.

The elevator ride even comes equipped with alien sound effects. The restaurant gives a great panoramic view of the airport and the surrounding areas of Los Angeles.
