More Than 63K Southland Customers Without Power

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — More than 63,000 Southland residents were without without power Friday due to the storm.

Approximately 19,500 LA Department of Water and Power customers were in the dark.

The affected areas include Long Beach, San Pedro, and the Harbor area to the San Fernando Valley, including 1,200 in Sherman Oaks, 1,100 in Griffith Park and 1,100 in Leimert Park.

Crews were at several locations trying to restore power.

More than 44,000 customers were without power as of 5 a.m., according to the utility's website.

Of those affected, 26,000 people were in Los Angeles County.
