More Than 400 Residents Remain Without Power In Manhattan Beach
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — More than 400 hundred residents remained without power on Monday in Manhattan Beach.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday, a downed transformer triggered a massive power outage in downtown Manhattan Beach near 11th Street and Poinsettia Avenue, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
Residents reported flames burned for more than an hour while they waited for Southern California Edison to arrive.
Officials said 6,813 customers were left without electricity in the downtown area as well as other areas in the city.
As of 11 a.m., about 400 customers were without power, according to SCE.
Authorities were able to fix the power line that disrupted the outage in the area.
Crews estimate electricity should be restored in the area by noon.
