Student Whose Note Sent Moorpark High Into Lockdown Is Killed By Train
MOORPARK (CBSLA.com ) —A student whose threatening note prompted a lockdown at Moorpark High School has apparently killed himself by stepping in front of a train.
Moorpark Unified School District administrators became aware of a threat at 8:21 a.m. after a student reportedly left a suicide note on the campus, which is located at 4500 Tierra Rejada Road.
"The school found the note and put the school on lockdown, looking to see which kid it was," a grandparent of a MHS student told KNX 1070.

Authorities told the Ventura County Star that during the lockdown, a person later identified as the threatening student stepped in front of an Amtrak train about a mile from the school and was killed. The student's name was not released.
More than 70 deputies and officers from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene to aid in the investigation.
"There is no indication of explosives on campus. However, as a precaution, the Bomb Squad and K-9's will be doing a secondary sweep of the campus," the sheriff's department said in a statement.
More than 2,000 students were released for the day around 11 a.m.
Nearby Arroyo West and Mountain Meadow Elementary schools were locked down as a precaution, but have since resumed normal operations.
