Monterey Park Man, 27, Accused Of Drugging And Raping Co-Worker In Hotel Room
ROSEMEAD (CBS) — A 27-year-old Monterey Park man has been arrested after allegedly drugging and raping a woman in Rosemead hotel room.
The LA County Sheriff's Department announced that Ming He was taken into custody about 9 p.m. Thursday.
Sgt. Steve Kim said deputies received a call from a woman who said she had woken up in an unfamiliar hotel room and completely naked.
According to Kim, the woman told detectives that she remembered going to a club with a co-worker but nothing after that. She also believed she had been raped.
Kim says surveillance video shows the suspect carrying the barely conscious alleged victim into a room. He later left the room alone, according to Kim.
Authorities say the suspect reportedly called the victim and admitted drugging her with Ketamine (known as a date rape drug) as well as having sexual intercourse with her.
She says he also offered to give her some money if she "agreed to go away for several weeks until things settled down."
The woman told him to meet her at a parking lot for a nearby business. Police say when he arrived they detained him after reportedly finding Ketamine on his person.
He was booked at the sheriff's Temple Station for rape by use of intoxicants or drugs as well as possession of Ketamine.
He is being held on $100,000 bail.
