Monterey Park Bank Robbed By 2 Unarmed Men With No Getaway Car
MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA.com) — Police say two unarmed men with no getaway car were able to rob a bank in Monterey Park.
The robbers entered a branch of Cathay Bank, 250 S. Atlantic Blvd., just before 5 p.m. Thursday, according to a police statement.
One of the robbers approached a teller and demanded money, so the teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robbers then fled on foot through the parking lot, police said.
"No weapons were seen," Monterey Park police Sgt. Paul Yniguez said.
The robbers were described as two black men in their mid-20s. The first was 5-foot-10, thin, wearing a black and red Chicago Bulls cap, a red-and-black argyle sweater and black pants. The second man was 5-foot-8, also thin, wearing a black cap, gray sweater and black pants.
