Woman Fatally Struck By Metrolink Train In Montebello
MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) — A woman was struck and killed by a freight train Friday in Montebello.
The crash was reported shortly before 2 a.m. near Greenwood Avenue at the railroad tracks, according to police.
Upon their arrival, authorities pronounced a woman dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The incident subsequently closed Montebello Boulevard, Greenwood Avenue, Maple Avenue and Vail Avenue between Olympic Boulevard and Mines Avenue.

Detectives believe the woman who died at the scene intentionally placed herself in the path of the train.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
