Missing Boy, 10, Found At Friend's House In South LA
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A 10-year-old boy who had been missing since Saturday night was found Monday at the home of a friend, police said. He reportedly had minor injuries.
Authorities said Kevin Rodriguez ran away from his home in the 1500 block of East 22nd Street around 7 p.m. Saturday after an argument with his stepmother. He was found at a nearby home before 9 a.m. Monday, police said.
Detectives reportedly found the boy after a neighbor overheard friends talking about him.
It is unclear if anyone in the home where Rodriguez was found will face criminal charges.
"That hasn't been determined at this point. They were sheltering him. He was found in reasonably
good condition and we will investigate all the circumstances in this situation," said Sgt. Mitzi Grasso.
Los Angeles police had carried out an around-the-clock search for the boy, who only speaks Spanish.
He comes from El Salvador and has been in the United States only for about a month.
