Mini Cooper Announces Massive Recall Over Fire Hazard
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A massive recall has been ordered for several models of the Mini Cooper after car's manufacturer, BMW, received 12 reports of fires caused by the auxiliary water pump.
Eight of those fires started when the cars were parked and the engine was shut off.
Mini Cooper, Cooper S, and Clubman models from 2006 through 2011 are all part of the recall.
Owners should take their vehicles to a dealer, which will make the necessary repairs for free.
