Memorial Service To Be Held For Murdered Menifee Boy
MENIFEE (CBSLA.com) — A public memorial service will be held Thursday night for an 11-year-old Menifee boy who was found dead in his family's backyard.
Terry Smith Jr.'s father said he planned the service to thank the volunteers who helped search for his son.
Smith was reported missing by his mother on July 7 and a massive search effort, including more than a thousand volunteers, ensued. His remains were found three days later in the backyard of his family's home in the 33000 block of Helen Lane.
The boy's 16-year-old half-brother Skylor Atilano was arrested and charged with murder.
The service will be held at Lamb's Fellowship in Lake Elsinore at 6:30 p.m.
