Memorial Service To Be Held In Glendale For Fallen LAPD Officer Nicholas Lee

GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — A memorial service will be held Monday for a Los Angeles Police officer who was killed when a dump truck collided with his patrol vehicle in Beverly Hills.

At 11 a.m., family and friends of Officer Nicholas Lee will gather at Forest Lawn Cemetery, located at 1712 South Glendale Avenue, for a half-hour memorial service.

Lee was killed two years ago in the intersection of Loma Vista Drive and Robert Lane in the Beverly Hills area.

At the time, Lee and his training partner were responding to a call when their vehicle collided with a truck carrying a roll-off dumpster.

The training officer and truck driver both suffered critical injuries. Lee was killed in the crash.

According to the LAPD, Lee began his career on Aug. 31, 1998 as a member of the 8B-98 class. In March 1999, he completed his academy training and transferred to the Van Nuys Division.

After completing his probation, Lee then transferred to the Hollywood Division where he worked patrol. In 2003, Lee was selected as Police Officer III. He was assigned to the juvenile car where he worked for two years.

Lee later transferred to the Wilshire Division where he worked as a training officer and later for Wilshire Vice.

In 2008, Lee returned to patrol as a field training officer in the Hollywood Division.

Lee is survived by his wife and two daughters.
