Measles Infections In California Grow To 123
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The number of measles cases in California has reached 123 in the wake of a December outbreak at Disneyland.
The California Department of Public Health released the new figure on Friday.
The department says 75 reported infections involved people who visited or worked at Disneyland or had contact with a sick person who was there.
The agency says it's unclear how the 48 other people were infected but the virus strain is similar to the one from the Disneyland outbreak.
The Disneyland connection has been linked to at least two dozen other cases in six other states, Mexico and Canada.
Most of those who fell ill were not vaccinated and health officials are urging people to get the measles shot.
