McDonald's To Give Away Apple Slices To Kids On Halloween
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — McDonald's will give away a free serving of apple slices to children 11 and younger on Halloween across most of Southern California, the regional operator announced.
The one-day deal is offered in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday.
"We are excited to offer this nutritious treat for children this Halloween season," said Michael Mangione Jr., who owns and runs the McDonald's Operators' Association of Southern California. "The Halloween apple slice giveaway is another example of our commitment to children's well-being and part of our broader effort to educate children and their parents on the benefits of fruits and vegetables."
In September, California was one of the first states to unveil the new Happy Meal, which includes apple slices and down-sized fries.
