Matt Kemp In Hunt For Historic Triple Crown

(CBS) -- To quote Vin Scully on Thursday night after Matt Kemp slugged his 36th homer , "That's not a bat he uses, that's a magic wand."

Kemp is inching closer to becoming the first LA Dodger to win the MVP since Kirk Gibson in 1988, even more amazing, Kemp is dangerously close to becoming the first NL Triple-Crown winner since Joe Medwick in 1937.

He trails only the Cardinals' Albert Pujols in HRs by one, is .004 points behind Milwaukee's Ryan Braun in batting average and leads Braun in RBI by five.

With just seven games left, Kemp has the attention of the baseball world.
