Power Outage Strikes CBS2/KCAL9 Broadcast Center, Studio City
STUDIO CITY (CBS) — A power outage affecting the Studio City area knocked KCAL9 News off air for about 45 minutes on Friday evening.
Power was knocked out just after 8:30 p.m.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power said about 400 customers were also left in the dark.
These customers including residents of condos and apartment buildings in Studio City near Moorpark and Colfax.
Power was fully restored to all affected customers by 10 p.m.
The KCAL9 broadcast was partially restored at approximately 9:15 p.m. with intermittent audio. The broadcast was fully restored shortly before 11 p.m.
DWP's Jane Galbraith said the cause of the outage was under investigation.
A LADWP lineman told Rob Schmitt, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, that a power line on Moorpark malfunctioned.
