Fire At Masonic Lodge Deemed Suspicious

LAKE ELSINORE (CBS) — Authorities are calling the fire that ripped through the historic Masonic Lodge in Lake Elsinore "suspicious" and are asking for the public's help in determining its cause.

The two-alarm blaze was reported at 7:14 p.m. Friday at 131 E. Graham
Avenue.

Thirty firefighters were able to quell the blaze in an hour.

No injuries were reported.

Most of the roof caved in on the two-story 4,000-square-foot building, which dates to 1925 and sits right behind City Hall. It has been vacant since
2006, when Masonic members merged with the Sun City-Perris lodge.

Fire officials urge anyone with information about suspicious activity around the building to call the Riverside County Arson Hotline at (800) 633-2836.
