Marijuana Plants Found Growing Between Public Park And Rowland Heights Neighborhood
ROWLAND HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say detectives have discovered nearly 2,000 marijuana plants growing in the hills above Pathfinder Regional Community Park.
A tip from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's Aero Bureau led detectives to the area, nestled in the hillside between the park and a residential neighborhood, Lt Nick Tippings of the Marijuana Eradication Team said.
The more than 1,800 marijuana plants were found in "various stages of growth," with some four to six feet tall. Some plants have been harvested.
Detectives also found more than 1,000 pounds of trash left behind in an encampment by the pot growers, KNX 1070's Margret Carrero reported.

The street value of the marijuana was estimated at $2.7 million.
