Marijuana-Laced Cookies Sicken 3 Boys

HUNTINGTON BEACH (AP) — Police say three Southern California children were sickened after eating cookies laced with marijuana.

Huntington Beach police Lt. Russell Reinhart says the children, including an 11-year-old boy, were treated at a hospital Wednesday for vomiting, dizziness and headaches.

Reinhart says a neighbor gave the pot-laced cookies to one youngster's parent as a gift and they were set aside.

Reinhart says the parent's son and two friends came home later in the afternoon, ate some of the cookies and went to play in a park. They returned to their homes complaining of illness.

The lieutenant says the neighbor who provided the cookies knew they contained pot and he doesn't have a medical marijuana card. He hasn't been arrested but an investigation continues.
