Many Employers May Track Computer Use On Cyber Monday
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — If you missed all those early bird specials and the doorbuster deals on Black Friday, you'll still have the chance to take advantage of the bargains.
A recent survey conducted by CareerBuilder reports that nearly half of U.S. workers have plans to shop on Cyber Monday, but says about 60 percent of companies plan to block internet access.
And California-based Robert Half Technology - a research firm - says another 23 percent of bosses will be monitoring computer use on Cyber Monday to search for people who are shopping instead of working.
Meantime, ShopperTrak reported that the holiday shopping season started out strong with Black Friday sales up over 6.6 percent as compared to the same day in 2010.
