Man's Legs Severed After Being Struck By Freight Train In Compton
COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — A 22-year-old man's legs were severed after he was struck by, and then trapped underneath, a freight train in Compton Wednesday afternoon.
The train, which was traveling northbound along Alameda Street, hit the victim at Myrrh Street around 4:05 p.m.
The Compton Fire Department was able to free the pedestrian from one of the train's tanker cars less than half an hour later.
The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
