Mandatory Wood-Burning Ban Remains In Effect For Parts Of Southern California
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Most of Southern California remains under a residential no-burn order Sunday because of stagnant air and pollution concerns.
The alert requires that residents living in the South Coast Air Basin refrain from burning wood in their fireplaces, both indoors and outdoors, until at least midnight.
That area includes Orange County, as well as the non-desert portions of LA, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
This is the fifth straight day for the no-burn order.
The only exceptions include the Coachella Valley, residences above 3,000-feet in elevation and homes where there is no source of heat, according to KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO.
