Man With Gun In Barricade Situation With Police At Train Station In Chatsworth
CHATSWORTH (CBSLA.com) — An armed man was in a barricade situation with police at the Amtrak Chatsworth station Friday evening.
Authorities said a man with a gun was on an Amtrak train 790 and reportedly threatening passengers.
Sheriff's transit officers got a call from Metrolink operations just before 6:20 p.m., officials said.
Hundreds of passengers were evacuated off the train.
Desmond Shaw reporting in Sky 9 said the man has refused to leave the train.
KCAL9's Rachel Kim said dozens of riders have been stranded at the location for nearly four hours.
Authorities said they haven't made contact with the man as of 10 p.m.
One passenger told Kim she moved from the car where the suspect was located because he was loud and acting erratically.
"I saw him back there and he was trying to open the door," says Allison Bird, "and he locked it and he wouldn't come out."
Another said the man was very frenetic.
"I heard there was a guy who was frantically walking up and down the aisles saying 'If I had a gun, I would kill all these people.' I don't know. There's all kinds of stories going around," she said.
No people were hurt.
