Man Who Exposed Himself To Young Sisters At Large In Sylmar

SYLMAR (CBSLA.com) — Police say a man is at large after exposing himself to an 11-year-old girl and her 10-year-old sister in Sylmar.

The suspect approached girls about 7 p.m. Sunday as they walked near the Sylmar Leadership Academy in the 14500 block of Bledsoe Street, Los Angeles police Lt. Paul Vernon said.

The sisters say the man drove around the block several times, then stopped and called them over to his vehicle, police said.

"When the girls refused to approach, the driver exposed himself," Vernon said.

The sisters ran home and reported the incident to their mom, who called police.

Police searched the area for the man, including at nearby Sylmar Park. The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s with dark hair with a thin growth of facial hair along his jaw line.

The man was driving a black or dark blue, older-model Jeep with a hard top. He wore a light green shirt and dark green shorts.

Anyone with information about the incident can call LAPD Mission Station detectives at (818) 838-9971 or Crimestoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
