Man Walking Dog In Cathedral City Stabbed During Robbery Attempt
CATHEDRAL CITY (CBS) — A man walking his dog in a residential neighborhood in Cathedral City was stabbed in the leg during an attempted robbery, a police spokesman said Sunday.
Police Sgt. Corwin de Veas said the man told authorities he was walking on Shifting Sands Trail near 33rd Avenue when two men approached him and demanded his wallet.
When he told the suspects that he did not have a wallet, he was stabbed in the leg, de Veas said. The incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
The suspects were described as Hispanic males, both about 18 years old. One was about 5-feet-7 with a thin build. He was seen wearing a white shirt and black pants.
The other was wearing a dark blue shirt and blue jeans. He was about 5-feet-2 with a thin build.
Authorities said the victim drove himself to Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage. His injury was described as not life-threatening.
