Man Tries To Bring Gun On A Plane A Second Time
Irvine (CBS)— A Northern California man was arrested Monday while trying to bring a loaded gun onto an airplane at John Wayne Airport, authorities said.
Minhchau Pham was stopped by agents of the Transportation Security Administration when they spotted a .38 revolver inside his carry-on luggage at a security checkpoint, the Orange County Register reports.
This is the 43-year-old's second offense. In 2005 he was also arrested for attempting to bring a loaded pistol on a flight to San Jose, authorities said.
"The reason he had it, we don't know," said Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Department. "But it is the second time, so we're taking a closer look at it."
Pham was booked into Men's Central Jail and was being held on $20,000 bail, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. He has been released.
