Man Wanted For Threatening West Covina Restaurant Worker With Gun

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com) — Police asked for the public's help Friday in identifying a man who threatened a restaurant worker in West Covina with a gun.

A man entered the Sweet Hut Thai Restaurant, 1215 S. Glendora Ave., Thursday at about 10:15 a.m., before it was open for business and went directly into the restroom, police said.

When the restaurant worker knocked on the door and told the man the restaurant was not yet open for business, police say the man exited the restroom, pointing a handgun at the worker, threatening to kill him.

The man then exited the restaurant and got into a newer model black or dark blue sedan, similar to a BMW, and was last seen driving away southbound on Glendora Avenue.

Photos of the man were obtained from a neighboring business, where he had gone prior to the restaurant.

The man was described an Asian man between 20 and 30 years old, between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-10, weighing 150 to 180 pounds, with black hair, dark eyes and clean shaven. He wore a light-colored V-neck shirt with black horizontal stripes, blue jeans and black-and-white Converse-type shoes.

Anyone with information about the man's identity can contact West Covina police at (626) 939-8557.
