LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A man was burned Thursday in an apartment fire in downtown Los Angeles, a fire department spokesman said.

Firefighters sent to 622 S. Wall St. just before 10 a.m. extinguished a blaze on the first floor of a three-story building in about 10 minutes, Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The man, who was believed to be about 50, was transported to a hospital for treatment, Scott said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
