Man Struck, Killed By Freight Train In Riverside
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A freight train struck and killed a man who was apparently attempting suicide Saturday night, according to Riverside police.
The man was pronounced dead at the site of the incident, near the intersection of Harrison Street and Indiana Avenue, Riverside police Sgt. Gary Toussaint said. The man was struck about 7:50 p.m.
The coroner's office was called to the scene to investigate the incident, Toussaint said.
Because of the death, a Metrolink train en route to Riverside was stopped in Corona. Via Twitter, Metrolink said the victim was struck by a BSNF Railway train.
