Man Stabbed To Death At Party In Downtown Santa Monica
SANTA MONICA (CBS) — A suspect was police custody Wednesday for the stabbing death of man in downtown Santa Monica.
The unidentified man was killed at a party at an apartment complex in the 400 block for Broadway Street.
Officers arrived at the scene at 3:30 a.m.Wednesday and "heard people screaming. Upon making entry into the living room area, they found a deceased male, white, in his 20s at the location," Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department said.
A suspect, also a male in his 20s, was detained about a block away from the scene with other people who had been at the party, Lewis said.
The murder is under investigation. A motive for the crime is unclear, police said.
