Man Killed, Woman Seriously Injured After Two Suspects Open Fire In Norwalk

NORWALK (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives investigated the shooting death of a man in Norwalk on Thursday.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies were sent to the 15100 block of Grayland Avenue for report of a gunshot victim call, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an adult man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics transported both victims to a hospital.

According to deputies, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

At this time, the woman remains listed in serious condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victims were walking south on Grayland Avenue when a white vehicle drove alongside them.

Two Hispanic men exited the car, and one or possibly both suspects, opened fire at the victims, deputies said.

The man and woman were struck by gunfire before the suspects re-entered their vehicle and fled northbound on Grayland Avenue.

Detectives described the suspect vehicle only as being white in color.

The investigation is ongoing.
