PALMS (CBSLA.com) — A 46-year-old man was killed and six other people were hurt in a two-car crash Sunday morning on the 10 Freeway, California Highway Patrol reported.
It happened at 2:55 a.m. when a Toyota Camry and a Honda collided on the westbound side of the freeway, at Manning Avenue near the National Boulevard off-ramp, CHP Officer Tony Polizzi said.
Investigators are looking into what caused the crash.
A passenger in the Toyota, Anselmo Hernandez, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the Toyota escaped with minor injuries. A 42-year-old man in the car suffered moderate injuries and a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl sustained minor injuries, the CHP reported.
The driver of the Honda and a 23-year-old woman in the passenger seat both suffered minor injuries.
The right two lanes of the westbound 10 were shut down during the investigation and clean-up, Polizzi said.
