2 Killed In 2-Vehicle Hit-And-Run Collision In South LA
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two people were killed Saturday in a two-vehicle hit-and-run collision in South Los Angeles.
The accident was reported about 1:45 a.m. at the intersection of Central and Gage avenues, according to authorities.
One of the victims, identified as Armando Aceves, a 47-year-old Covina man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Aceves was a postal employee on his way to work, according to officials.
Aceves was only on the job three months, according to Art Barron, reporting for CBS2.
The accident scene was about a block from the post office gates, police said.
The driver in the hit-and-run vehicle was reportedly going as fast as 95 mph when the crash occurred.
Officials said the driver and one of his passenger's fled the scene.
Authorities said another passenger in that cat, believed to be the driver's brother, was also killed. Another passenger in that car suffered head trauma.
