Man In Brazil Tries To Use Jack Nicholson's Face To Open Bank Account
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Actor Jack Nicholson will likely be in his usual seat at Staples Center to watch the Los Angeles Lakers play the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday night – not behind bars in Brazil.
According to the Brazilian newspaper, Globo, a 41-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after trying to use identification bearing Nicholson's face to open a bank account in the district of Boa Viagem, in northeastern Brazil.
The name on the ID was Joao Pedro dos Santos, and according to the translated Brazilian report, there was "no physical similarity" between the suspect and the 74-year-old Oscar winner.
The suspect, Ricardo Sergio Freire de Barros, had apparently been using fake IDs to open bank accounts and credit cards with high limits for months, then would default on the debts, according to police.
Barros is being held in jail awaiting trial.
