Man Hit And Killed By Train In Mission Viejo
MISSION VIEJO (CBS) — A man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Mission Viejo.
According to Orange County Sheriff's officials, the apparent suicide was reported at 11:32 p.m. Thursday on the railway between La Paz Road and Alicia Parkway.
Pacific Surfliner train 796 was moving south from the Irvine stop with about 85 passengers and several crew members on board, Christina Leeds of Amtrak said. No crew or passengers were injured.
Passengers and crew remained on the train during the investigation, Leeds said.
