Man Found Shot Sunday Succumbs To His Wounds
HIGHLAND PARK (CBS) — A 27-year-old man found shot in Highland Park Sunday succumbed to his wounds Tuesday, authorities said.
Police officers found Alfonso Garcia at 7:45 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Newland Street, two blocks north of York Boulevard. He had been shot once in his upper body and was not responsive, police said.
Garcia was taken to a hospital where he was put on life support. He died today at 11:10 a.m.
There is no suspect description and a motive for the shooting has not been determined. Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast gang detectives are asking for the public's help. Detectives C. Vasquez or M. Eddy can be reached at (213) 847-4263.
