Man Fatally Struck After Exiting His Car On 134 Freeway In Glendale
GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — A 42-year-old man was fatally struck after getting out of his vehicle on the westbound 134 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Shortly after midnight Saturday, the victim's car, a 2005 Toyota Solara, struck another car, a 2001 silver Honda, that had broken down in the left lane, near Pacific Avenue.
The driver of the Honda suffered major injuries.
The Toyota's driver got out of his car and was standing in the carpool lane when he was fatally hit by a 2011 Lexus. The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene.
Soon after, another driver struck the victim and fled the scene.
Wreckage from the collision was spread over the freeway and shut down all four lanes.
The victim was identified as a West Hollywood resident. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
CHP officials are still investigating the crash.
