Man Fatally Stabbed During Fight In Santa Ana Parking Lot
SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday said a man has died after being stabbed inside an Orange County parking lot.
Police said the incident began at the El Chile Picante restaurant in the 1900 block of S. Main Street just before 1 p.m.
According to witness accounts, the victim was seated in the restaurant when two men appeared to have come looking for him. The group argued and at one point the men tried to drag the victim out by his arms, police said.
The man, identified as 26-year-old Paul Anthony Garcia, left a short time later. It's believed the pair was waiting for Garcia across the street.
They fought again and the victim was stabbed.
Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said the victim staggered across the street trying to get help. He then collapsed.
"My mom came and she said there was a dead body on the ground and his face was purple so I didn't think he was breathing. And then we came and we actually saw them giving him CPR," said Fernanda Ramirez, a witness.
Garcia was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities do not believe the stabbing was gang-related.
No arrests have been made. Police said they are looking for two men believed to be in their late 20s or early 30s.
No further information was made available.
