Man Fatally Shoots Himself In Front Of Monrovia Police, Wife And Daughter, 7
MONROVIA (CBS) — A Texas man fatally shot himself in front of his ex- wife, their 7-year-old daughter and Monrovia police, authorities said Sunday.
The shooting occurred next to Library Park in the 300 block of South Myrtle Avenue about noon Saturday, according to Monrovia police Lt. Michael Lee.
Arriving officers found the man holding a gun on his wife, he said.
As officers ordered the man to put down the gun, he fatally shot himself, Lee said.
The woman and their 7-year-old daughter were physically unharmed, he said.
Police said the gunman, who lived in Texas, had been following his ex-wife and their daughter. It was unclear why authorities were withholding the dead man's name.
