Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges In Stabbing Of Friend
ONTARIO (CBS) — An Upland man is facing attempted murder charges after he reportedly stabbed his friend at an Ontario hotel.
Tanner Maloncon is accused to stabbing his 29-year-old friend after an argument at the Ayres Suites Hotel, located in the 4300 block of East Mills Circle, late Monday night, Cpl. Bill Russell of the Ontario Police Department said.
The victim and Maloncon, 29, were staying at the hotel with their families when the fight began.
"An argument ensued and the two subjects began fighting inside one of the rooms. During the struggle, the suspect drew a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times," Russell said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for multiple stab wounds. He is listed in critical condition, he added.
Maloncon fled the scene on foot, but was arrested later that night. He was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for attempted homicide, according to Russell.
Officials say Maloncon has a prior felony conviction.
