Man Dies After Racing Car With Brother In Garden Grove

GARDEN GROVE (AP) — Authorities say a man died after losing control of his car while racing with his brother on the streets of Orange County.

Garden Grove police say in a statement that the 21-year-old driver was driving one of two cars speeding together Sunday when his car rolled, then slammed into a light pole.

The man was trapped in the vehicle, pulled out by paramedics and later declared dead at a hospital. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department says the brother killed was Caesar Michel of Garden Grove.

His brother, who was the driving the other car, remained at the scene and gave police a statement. His name has not been released.

The statement says alcohol does not appear to have been involved in the crash.
