Man Charged With Killing Childhood Friend From S. Korea
SANTA ANA (AP) — A Southern California man has been charged with the shooting death of a childhood friend visiting from South Korea.
Orange County prosecutors say 51-year-old Beong Kwun Cho is accused of shooting 50-year-old Weon Woo Lee in the head on Tuesday night. The men had been friends since kindergarten.
Investigators say Cho has lived with his family in Cerritos for seven years and Lee came to California on vacation in November to spend time with Cho and his family.
The Los Angeles Times says motive for the killing hasn't been disclosed.
Lee's body was found behind a vehicle in an Anaheim industrial area.
